Head Lice Treatment: An Overview
Here we shall discuss some self-help tips for removal of head lice. We are not discussing methods for removal of body lice or pubic lice, but only hair lice. These miniature creatures are a nuisance. They have a gala time at our expense by feasting on blood from our scalp while we suffer from the annoying and irritating itch.
In this article, we are discussing about head lice only. Hair lice infest our hair on the scalp and neck only. These creatures should not be confused with other species of lice which infest other body parts namely, body lice and pubic lice.
It is generally assumed that lice can hop from one's hair to another person's hair if two people sit close together or play together. However, scientific research has proved that this is nothing but a misconception. Lice resemble ants, are wingless and therefore can't fly.
Lice suck blood while on our heads by biting with their strong teeth, and this causes the tell-tale maddening itch. This itchiness, discounting the actual lice infestation, is usually enough to make us use a head lice treatment. One way of looking at it is as a war against these strong but small enemies.
