The Oki C5100 has a ton of features available on it. Just to start with, it has a single pass engine which can print up to 12 color pages per minute and up to 20 black and white pages per minute. This makes it one of the faster products in this price range. The Oki C5100 has a 250 sheet feeder too, and an auto duplex option is also available. Further options are a 10/100 Ethernet network port and an USB 2.0 port.

This printer contains four different toner cartridges. Every toner has a different color. These colors are black, cyan, yellow and magenta. This is a very nice system, because if one color ink goes empty, you have no need too to replace the entire toner. You just replace that color ink. The Oki toner prints less pages than a typical toner. A complete set costs about $150 for a branded toner, not as much for a generic.

If you decide to buy an official solid ink, you'll see that they are significantly more expensive. Some web sites had a set of four toners selling for nearly four hundred dollars! The generic brands supply you with much more bang for your buck because they do the exact same thing at a lower price.

The same company also manufactures Oki 5300. The speed of its microprocessor is double that of Oki C5100 and the RAM is also double. Despite these features both have the same print speeds. Oki 5300's ink can print twelve color pages in a minute and twenty black and white pages in a minute.

When people buy any printer, they thought about ink's price. So people must take time to compare printer's price and ink's price, before they bought any model of printer.
